The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall of thousands of child car seats, citing safety concerns that could potentially cause injuries.
According to the notice posted on April 18, specific “Safety 1st Grow & Grow Sprint” child seat headrests, manufactured by Dorel Juvenile Group, have a foam pad that “can present a choking hazard to a child.”
The agency stated that nearly 180,000 units have been affected. According to a safety report, Dorel received 13 reports of incidents in which a child placed the foam pieces in their mouth.
